The opening night of the National Theatre’s production of His Dark Materials had to be postponed because of technical problems. Previews of the two-part production, based on Philip Pullman’s best-selling trilogy, have revealed safety problems. All December performances will go ahead as previews. These will end on January 3, instead of December 20 when the play formally opens.
