Discussions were being held in the education faculty of Glasgow University - formed out of St Andrew’s College - about what to do with non-denominational students when a session was being held on the vitalmatter for Catholic teachers of approval by the Church.

A practical solution was reached: send them for an early break in the canteen. Or, as one lecturer put it: “Early buns for the Huns.”
