Meet your Waterloo
The Duke of Wellington’s London residence, Apsley House (“Number One, London”), will be a fitting place to celebrate Waterloo Week, June 14 to 22. Tour the house, meet Redcoats and Regency ladies, learn about the sumptuous banquets and magnificent porcelain and silver, and discover David Wilkie’s painting “The Chelsea Pensioners Reading the Waterloo Despatch”. Children can listen to a storyteller and make masks complete with crowns and tiaras. Entry will be free at the weekends and on Waterloo Day, June 18. Information: 020 7499 5676.

At the National Museum of Photography, Film and Television in Bradford this summer you can discover how to vision-mix, meet Wallace and Gromit (the models, that is), explore the history of photography, learn about the role of the film producer from Lord Puttnam, or about news gathering from the BBC. Still, life
Crescent Arts in Scarborough is inviting anyone keen to try their hand at life drawing to come along on Sundays. Model, materials and refreshments will be provided for the sessions on May 25, June 1, 8, 15 and 22. Beginners especially welcome.
