Twinned with Iraq

In your coverage of the Association of CollegesBritish Council FE project in Iraq (“Colleges to the rescue”, FE Focus, April 29) you rightly highlight the frustrations we have been experiencing in trying to access funds. This problem is something that UK FE is all too familiar with and, as always, we will get there somehow!

In the spirit of partnership I would however like to point out that there are many UK colleges involved in the project - but that your list of those so far twinned with Iraqi institutions should also include Preston, Halton, Oxford and Cherwell, and Warwickshire.

Without the equally huge support, hard work and commitment of all eight colleges, the project would have never got off the ground, let alone achieved so much so soon and on so little!
