“If inspiration fails, there’s no harm in relying occasionally on published resources. For plenty of ready-made one-off Literacy Hours try (Brand X textbooks)”.
The TES of September 18 reduced the two sentences above in my article “An hour to make a mark”, to “There’s no harm in using published resources. Try (Brand X textbooks)”.
This suggests that teachers can simply hand over responsibility for the hour to a book relying on it day by day to deliver their literacy teaching.
That’s definitely not what I meant!
