Understanding cancer

https://www.tes.com/magazine/archive/understanding-cancer
Do your pupils have a “why bother?” attitude when it comes to learning about cancer? Three sections of this site - Lifestylezone, Learnzone, Real-lifezone - aim to address that question and dispel mistaken beliefs by providing information about the effects of cancer, treatments, how to reduce the risk of getting the illness, and ways of supporting those living with it. Actionzone and Helpzone provide details of how to get involved in fundraising and where to find help and support on the subject.

Users are encouraged to share their experiences and fundraising ideas on the message board and to check out the What’s New section for upcoming events. Every day, six teenagers are diagnosed with cancer, making it an issue that pupils should be aware of. For teachers, there is also a link to another section of the Macmillan website, where there are lesson plans and much more.
