Ofsted has always prided itself on being tough on education and tough on the causes of education (teachers) but just how tough they have become finally became apparent to the Diary when we read their report on Ben Jonson primary school in east London: “Pupils’ attendance is unsatisfactory. However, it has improved slightly since the last inspection when it was judged to be satisfactory.” Now, that really is tough.
