Union taps into sprinkler fears

The National Union of Teachers is backing a campaign for all schools to have sprinkler systems. It says the number of school fires rose by 55 per cent last year but only 150 of Britain’s schools have the safety devices.

The campaign for a change in school building regulations is being supported by firefighters and local government.
