Unwelcome in our caring world

One thread that got people up in arms was from a student barred from the staffroom because “there isn’t enough room”. One contributor advised: “Walk in, sit down and eat your lunch like the civilised adult you are. Put them in the situation where they have to ask you to leave, at which point you laugh and say: ‘I don’t believe you would treat a visitor to your school in such a way.’”

Another whose school bars students said: ” We often discuss confidential information about children that I wouldn’t want anyone but staff to overhear.”

Another poster countered: “This school is trusting the person with 30 kids a class yet won’t let that person be included in conversations about those kids. Complete claptrap.
