A primary school has learnt it will be knocked down, four months after it was rebuilt at a cost of pound;1 million. New Oak primary, in Hengrove, Bristol, will be replaced by an academy for 1,200 pupils aged 3 to 18. The new school will be sponsored by the Christian charity Oasis Trust, which has pledged pound;2 million.
A Bristol city council spokeswoman said: “We accept it’s been a waste of money, but it’s too good an opportunity to pass up.”
