Almost all public schools in the United States are now connected to the Internet, while 63 per cent of classrooms have Net access. According to the US Education Department’s National Center for Educational Statistics, most of these connections - 86 per cent - use igh-speed technologies, with only 14 per cent on dial-up links. In contrast, only 58 per cent of British primaries and 70 per cent of secondaries have high-speed connections. No figures are available on the number of British classrooms with Net access.
