Children are being exposed to a “toxic” cocktail of drugs, junk food and unsuitable material published on the internet, a private school headteacher has warned.
Rowland Constantine, chairman of the Incorporated Association of Preparatory Schools, told the association’s annual conference in Lisbon, Portugal, that their schools offered a clear set of values which gave children respite from such threats.
“Today’s children live under pressures that, frankly, did not exist when many of us were at school,” he said.
