Natashia Jackman, 15, escaped being blinded by millimetres after she was stabbed in the eye by a bullying schoolgirl.

The 14-year-old threatened to cut off Natashia’s hair as they waited in the dinner queue at Collingwood College in Camberley. She was singled out because she listened to heavy metal music and the way she dressed.

But when Natashia stood up to her tormentor, the girl - who can not be named - stabbed her repeatedly in the eye, head and back with a pair of scissors. Her two accomplices looked on and afterwards helped hide the weapon. Natashia’s attacker was jailed for three-and-a-half years. Her two accomplices received 12-month community orders for perverting the course of justice.

Natashia is now living in Oregon, US, with her aunt and uncle. She is hoping to become a teacher. Her parents are suing the education authority.
