MINISTERS are set to issue new guidance to schools on managing pupils with severe behavioural difficulties.
It will include advice to headteachers and local authorities on drawing up policies regarding the restraint of violent pupils and will set out guidelines for training teachers and recording and monitoring incidens.
The move, announced by Estelle Morris in reply to a
question by Dr Julian Lewis MP,
follows the high profile case of Marjorie Evans, the headteacher who was recently cleared of assaulting a pupil.
