Look Again! is a remarkably positive and thorough guide to using film and television with three to 11-year olds. Rather than shunning the appeal of the moving images that children often watch for hours each day, the attractive 60-page booklet suggests a rich variety of ways to help young learners become “cineliterate”. It is full of practical ideas and case studies, showing how even the youngest children can fruitfully discuss how visual language works, how the flow of images needs to be edited, how music and silence play a vital role and how audiences can be attracted and held.
