More than a third of the nursery vouchers issued in the four pilot authorities (34 per cent) were cashed in at voluntary and private playgroups, not 4 per cent as reported in The TES last week.
The correct breakdown for where the vouchers were redeemed during the summer is: private and voluntary playgroups, 34 per cent; independent schools, 5 per cent; LEA day nurseries, 1 per cent; LEA-maintained schools, 58 per cent; grant-maintained schools 2 per cent.
