Vulgar role for TES

It is the ultimate accolade. The TES has been mentioned in Viz! Last month’s edition of the famously profane comic featured the hero of the “Desert Island Teacher” strip firing off an angry letter to The TES.

Artist John Fardell, both of whose parents are teachers, explains: “He is a synthesis of the worst teacher imaginable. He is washed up on a desert island and all he can do is give detentions to the limpets and have sex with the odd starfish.

“He has put this letter about how undervalued he is in a bottle and it is floating around the island.”

We look forward to receiving it.
