Teachers need to learn new ways of working with children who have increasingly complex special needs and disabilities, Government-funded researchers have warned. The two-year Complex Learning Difficulties and Disabilities Research Project found that teachers are not equipped to support a generation of pupils with severe difficulties, who survive to school age because of medical advances.
