A new online guide has been launched to help schools and voluntary organisations in Wales set up high-quality extra-curricular activities for children.

Educational charity ContinYou Cymru launched its A-Z guide for out-of-school-hours learning at Ysgol Llywelyn Primary School in Rhyl.

Aimed at parents, schools, youth groups and councils, the resource gives guidance on how to provide learning activities during and after school.

Pam Boyd, executive director of ContinYou Cymru, said: “Out-of-school-hours learning activities in all their guises are an important part of the experiences that we want for all our children and young people.

“Whether cooking or cycling, skate-boarding or Spanish, reading or rugby, we know how activities can widen horizons, develop confidence and self-esteem and raise aspirations.” de
