June 16

More children are accidentally killed by cars than by any other lethal implement. Road safety charity Brake is inviting schools to help raise awareness of this appalling fact by taking part in a nationwide “walking bus” activity and attempting to get into the Guinness Book of Records, while raising funds to help victims of careless drivers. The activity will involve using safe routes for children to walk to school in pairs under adult supervision.

* To register and receive an information pack, contact Brake with your name, school name, phone number and the number of children taking part.
