The TES book awards for children’s non-fiction this year touch the extremes of human experienceL the heart of dark times in war - and the liberating influence of music. The right book at the right moment can help children understand turbulent times. Both of this year’s winners of the TES Junior and Senior Information Book Awards, now in their 26th year, tell of the devastating effects of growing up in the two world wars of this century. Our other prize -The TESEducational Publishers Council Schoolbook Award - focuses on music to coincide with our campaign, Music for the Millennium.
