A powerful way of marking Remembrance Day on the 60th anniversary of the end of the Second World War would be to use Some Go Early. This CD-Rom, for children over 10, gives the true account of Jack Banks, who lied about his age and was killed just after D-day at the age of 16. His story is told in words, music and images, featuring the memories of his sister, the chaplain who buried him, and a veteran who still visits the cemetery. Teachers’ notes provide historical context. Some Go Early can be ordered from the Commonwealth War Graves Commission.
