The Scottish Executive is to step in directly in the day-to-day running of the Scottish Qualifications Authority as concerns grow about the ability of the organisation to deliver this year’s exams, only weeks away. With ministerial heads on the block, Jack McConnell, Educatin Minister, is sending in six senior civil servants to help with key management decisions, IT and project management. His decision follows an independant review of progress by consultants from Deloitte Touche. “We are pulling out all the stops”, a spokesman said.
