TES informs us that 16-19 qualifications will no longer be funded according to the cost of delivering them. From September, academic and some vocational courses will receive the same amount of money. A government spokesman is quoted as saying: “We have simplified the current complex system to fund schools and colleges more fairly.” Perhaps the same argument could be applied to the 2013-14 “schools block per-pupil funding”.
