Weapons search

As a practising teacher, I find the idea that I might have to search pupils for knives abhorrent on just about every count. I - like all my colleagues - joined our profession to teach, not to be a security guard. What is needed is a serious and well-resourced inquiry into how order in our schools can be maintained and learning and teaching allowed to go forward.
