The heidies, enjoying the delights of Crieff Hydro, were reminded by Dan McGinty, head of St Columba’s High, Perth, that they were sharing the hotel with others. “We have a group of dentists, drawn to the parish of St Fillans, ” McGinty quipped to the expected groans.

The conference also took a trip back to the 1970s with presentations from Pamela Munn of Moray House Institute and Dennis Gunning of the Scottish Qualifications Authority. The Munn and Gunning Show - now what was that again?

The next conference of Catholic heads is scheduled for September when the new women-dominated primary association meets for the first time. The Catholic Headteachers’ Association of Primaries in Scotland goes by the name of CHAPS.
