BRUSHING teeth may become a compulsory part of the school day in Wales, following the Welsh Assembly’s decision to provide free breakfasts for all schoolchildren. Highlighting the importance of dental hygiene, Jane Hutt, Assembly health minister, said toothbrushes and toothpaste could be provided for every pupil when the breakfast plans are implemented. Teachers would ensure that children’s teeth were brushed immediately after breakfast, she said.
