With some notable exceptions, the Welsh might be sport’s beautiful losers, but rugby still carries enough motivation in Welsh schools to get key stage 2 and 3 pupils to improve their literacy and numeracy skills with website activities during the recent Rugby World Cup in Australia. Powys education advisers have set online activities, including setting up a database of player profiles and tables, using spreadsheets to record scores and writing match reports.
