A superb satire with feeling which tackles the theme of addiction in its various forms in the context of turn-of-the-century North America, Infinite Jest by David Foster Wallace is something of a metatextual tour de force. It weighs in at 1,079 pages and is written and structured in such a way that reading the book becomes an addiction in itself.
