A website to help children understand what life was like during the Second World War has been launched by the British Red Cross and St John Ambulance. The Caring on the Home Front site contains free downloadable lesson plans, project ideas and classroom activities for children aged seven to 14. The site contains real stories, fact sheets, historical images, audio and video materials covering citizenship, history and PSHE. Video clips range from air raids to women demonstrating how to put on a gas mask. www.caringonthehomefront.org.uk
