THERE is little respite for those in charge of running education. Michael Barber has been back at his desk in Sanctuary Buildings for a week after a walking holiday in the Lake District.
Estelle Morris, the standards minister, has been around for much of the summer, but managed to get a holiday in France. David Blunkett prefers to work in Sheffield during the school holidays, but apart from a couple of weeks in Majorca, he has been on call. Margaret Hodge holidayed as usual in Italy, though it is not known whether she bumped into her former Islington neighbours, the Blairs.
