Moment, Dundee Contemporary Arts, until May 20 An inspirational exhibition of film, people-sized photographs, sounds, drawings and embroidered objects which encourage visitors of all ages to “linger, observe and enjoy the sensation of time passing”. Featuring small aeroplanes filmed making patterns in the sky, a comedy video that uses objects for actors instead of people and huge images of everyday city life. DCA’s education officer, Sarah Derrick, says the show will appeal to everyone.

Schools’ Millennium Project, Smith Art Gallery and Museum, Stirling, until May 28 Huge multi-media expressive arts exhibition featuring the work of 17 primary schols in the Stirlingshire area, including videos, sculpture, fashion and fabric as well as drawings and paintings, all on a millennium theme.

Happy Birthday, Dan Dare, Museum of Childhood, Edinburgh, until May 29 Although it hasn’t appeared since 1992, the “Eagle” boys’ comic and its most popular character, Dan Dare - “legendary pilot of the future” - are still fondly remembered by many. Launched in 1950 as a crusade by a clergyman who wanted to improve children’s popular reading material, Dan Dare’s exploits were set in the late 1990s - when Earth had finally managed to establish contact with intelligent beings on other planets.
