Sociology and psychology are increasingly popular subjects in our fifth and sixth-year curriculum but, if the experience of a depute head in a central Scotland secondary is anything to go by, philosophy will be the next innovation at Higher level.
The depute spotted a troubled first year standing behind an office door.
“What are you doing there?” he enquired.
“Something.”
“Who put you there?”
“Someone.”
“What had you been doing?”
“Something.”
