John Wheatley College is nothing if not creative. Commenting on the merits of merging Glasgow’s three city centre further education colleges, it suggests the combined institution might be called Will Fyfe College “because hopefully it will, at least in part, belong to Glasgow” (younger readers read on: “I Belong To Glasgow” - a famous rendition by comic Will Fyfe).

Alternatively, a single college could emerge under the moniker of Glasgow College of Building, Printing, Commerce, Beauty, Hospitality and Food.

“That would at least generate work for signwriters and, for a longer period, printers.”
