LONDON The Old Operating Theatre, Museum and Herb Garret, SE1 For the love of . . . pills, potions, poisons: explore the medicinal secrets of flowers of romance in the apothecary’s Herb Garret. Hands-on history with pill-making and poultices as well as demonstrations of Victorian surgery.

Make a hanging octopus, jellyfish or glittery fish, paint your face or enter the drawing competition. For the more adventurous, there’s an opportunity to see what can be caught and the chance to discover life in Oakwell’s ponds as well as to explore the Country Park and Oakwell Hall.
