A cartoon character called RoJo guides pupils around a CD-Rom called Coping with Bullying.

The disc, produced by Rotary International’s Coping With Life initiative and Gateshead council, offers guidance and help in accessible “packets” of information while video clips give pupils examples of different types of bullying.

Most text is available as audio for pupils with reading difficulties. Users can also hear what happens when you call Childline or the Samaritans. There are also sections for parents, teachers and governors detailing anti-bullying strategies that have been successful in European schools for the past 12 years.

This is the first in a series that will deal with family breakdown, bereavement and exams. Every school in the UK and Ireland can get a free copy of the first disc through their local Rotary club. It also can be bought for pound;10.
