Where am I?

I am staring at a tube of factor 20 sun-screen lying on the hard-baked black slope; surely dropped, not discarded by one of the stream of tourists slowly making their way back to their boat, aptly named “The Beagle”, which scarcely moves on the azure sea. Strange birds with blue legs outstretched whirl aloft, but no animal or plant is in sight. How different from the last island where iguanas, sea-lions and turtles loomed large, I muse. Or yet another one where giant tortoises slumber.
