Where there’s muck ...

“UK’s first dung-fired power station rumbles into life.” That probably got your attention. You may have read about the new dung power station at Holsworthy, Devon, but if you haven’t you can find out about it on the new “Sparking Reaction” website launched by education secretary Estelle Morris. It causes plenty of controversy, but British Nuclear Fuels Ltd has sponsored some well-received resources for schools, including this site, created for BNFL by the Science Museum. Sparking Reaction is linked to an exhibition at BNFL’s Windscale visitor centre, and is designed to stimulate debate on electricity generation. www.sparkingreaction.info
