The paper criticises the “very poor” quality of data on apprenticeships in Scotland. There was no information available on completion rates, levels of qualification achieved on completion or leaver destinations. “In fact, it is difficult to ascertain the contribution that MAs (modern apprenticeships) are making to the stock of intermediate skills in the economy.”
