Mark Haddon, whose novel in the voice of a teenage boy with Asperger Syndrome won the Booktrust’s first Teen Book Prize last week, now has a shot at the Whitbread book award.

The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time is on the shortlist in the Whitbread novel category, the winner of which is put up for the pound;25,000 Whitbread Book of the Year award. The overall winner will be selected on January 27.
