The Government’s wheeze to get entrepreneurs into schools to fire up the kids continued last week when Scottish Secretary Donald Dewar went along to Bathgate Academy, accompanied by Richard Emanuel.

Who? The head of DX Communications, of course (the inaugural effort was on safer, if not home, ground - Rangers millionaire boss David Murray visited Govan High in May).

At least one senior Scottish Office figure was mulling over what to call this “entrepreneurs into schools” initiative. The “EIS”, another senior figure advised.
