ZIGGI Alexander has been appointed chair of the Council for Education and Training of Social Workers. Mr Alexander will serve until September next year, a month before the abolition of the council the establishment of the General Social Care
Council.
JULIAN Daw has been appointed sales and marketing director for educational charity, HTI (Heads, Teachers and Industry). Mr Daw is a former science teacher and latterly a business development director. The charity he joins specialises in management training and teacher secondment programmes.
The Keep London Working partnership, which provides affordable homes for the capital’s workers, has appointed Hattie Llewelyn-Davis as its firstchair. Ms
Llewelyn-Davis is also a governor for the Peabody Trust, a freelance housing consultant, and holds a non-executive role in the National Health Service.
Dr Jean Seaton is to become the new BBC Historian with a commision to write the sixth volume of The History of Broadcasting in the United Kingdom. Dr Seaton, reader in mass communication at the University of Westminster, succeeds Professor Asa Briggs who was responsible for
penning the previous five volumes.
The British Youth Council has appointed Tris Brown as its new chair. Mr Brown is a member of the United Nations Association and Young European Movement. He succeeds David Jones who has left the BYC.
