Mary Crowley has been appointed chief executive of the Parenting and Education Support Forum. Ms Crowley, who is founder and director of the EU Socrates Dialogue Project, which aims to develop and implement a model course of parent education, chairs the Forum’s training and accreditation working group. For seven years she was head of the adult education service of Waltham Forest’s education department and a member of the William Morris Community Association for minority ethnic groups in the east London borough.
Tim Gregson-Williams has been appointed deputy managing director of the educational division of Hodder amp; Stoughton Educational. Mr Gregson-Williams joined the publishing company in 1984, and has been its divisional director since 1992.
Ann Davies, Romey Ahmad, Caroline Lewis and Alan Boxford have been appointed to the board of the Qualifications, Curriculum and Assessment Authority for Wales. Mrs Davies is headteacher of Ysgol-y-Dderi primary school, Lampeter; Mr Ahmad is assistant director of the Vale of Glamorgan’s education and social service department, and Mrs Lewis is principal of Neath College. Mr Boxford, headteacher at Llanishen High, Cardiff, has been reappointed for a second three-year term.
