In its 40th anniversary year, The TESS is staging round-table discussions, with participants drawn from inside and outside education. They are being organised and chaired by Ewan Aitken, one of our regular columnists. The following four pages record the first conversation in a series of five, to be published monthly.
We explore the imperatives for education set out in the Scottish Executive’s ‘Ambitious, Excellent Schools’ blueprint. This first conversation focuses on the first objective: “high expectations, high quality leadership and confident, ambitious schools”.
