A HARDLINE approach to drugs in schools may not be helpful and could lead to the wrong pupils being excluded, Essex University researchers have told the Home Office. They say pupils with serious problems need more support.

Department for Education and Skills guidance says pupils caught dealing drugs at school should be expelled - and not reinstated.
