Edinburgh education department and The TES Scotland are joining forces to mount an autumn conference on improving quality in schools, which will be addressed by Brian Wilson, the Education Minister.
The other principal speaker will be Chris Woodhead, the controversial head of the Office for Standards in Education who is a key member of the quality task force set up by David Blunkett, the Secretary of State for Education and Employment. The Scottish Office Inspectorate is associated with the conference, and Mr Woodhead will be introduced by Douglas Osler, senior chief inspector of schools.
Participants at the event on October 31 at the Edinburgh International Conference Centre are expected from across Scotland. The programme will include workshops on a range of quality issues.
Details on enrolment for the conference will be published in The TES Scotland shortly.
