The judges looked at the overall “learning journey” and the barriers overcome, as well as the outcome or achievement, whether that was a qualification, skill, job or progression to a higher level of learning.
Another factor was to show to others what can be achieved.
The judges were also looking at fulfilment of the “pledge to learners”, which contains 10 aspects of quality service. The centre had to show how it supports each learner, promotes a client-centred approach and overcomes the barriers learners bring with them.
