Yottenfews is the environmental education centre at the British Nuclear Fuels location at Sellafield. It’s range of habitats (an orchard, hedgerows and a pond) and wildlife (butterflies, red squirrels, swallows and frogs) make it an attractive contrast to the less comfortable associations of the parent site. The Yottenfews Year is a CD-Rom that allows key stage 2 pupils to make a virtual visit. Through videos, photos and interactive games, it shows changes over the four seasons and throughout life cycles, food chains and the processes of photosynthesis. The Yottenfews Year costs pound;6.95 from BNFL Education Unit, Unit 1A, Wirral Business Park, Arrowe Brook Road, Upton CH49 1 QZ.
