Eight colleges networked nationally through the YWCA have won a Pounds 400,000 grant from the European Social Fund to give skills training to boost the employment chances for young women.

At least 160 women will benefit in the first phase of the two-year schemes at Truro, Plymouth, St Helens, Kirby, Stourbridge, Northampton.
