LYNDA Steele’s letter concerning the delegations of budgets for property services to schools (TES, November 5) referred to a seminar which was part of Worcestershire’s consultation process.

The point raised was an illustration to show the difficulties faced by central support services in identifying new clients should schools not purchase their services.

Worcestershire is the country’s lowest funded county education authority. Our delegation policy is to offer high quality services at a cost to match the allocations. We feel sure this will be appreciated by most schools in the county.

Andrew Jarvis, Core unit manager, Worcestershire County Council, Spetchley Road, Worcester
